Despite it's common name the Caecilian worm is far from a worm. They are amphibians with an internal bone structure and
are most closely related to newts and salamanders.
These amazing creatures live in the mud or wetlands of South America. They attain lengths of up to 2 feet in length and
over an inch in diameter. They feed on worms, insect larvae, crustaceans and fish.
In captivity they have been raised in water aquariums or in mud with few problems. They do require air to breathe and
thus needs an accessible surface and a solid lid so be sure to incorporate these.
